Create and live by positive thoughts in every single class you take, game you play, or activity that you do. Be responsible and kind.

Favorite Place on Campus:
Art Gallery

Favorite Campus Memory: Working at the gallery, practicing fencing, relaxing at the Union, and my wedding at the chapel.

I wish I would have known:
How to create my own student organization! I would have probably created a Quidditch club!

I was an exchange student for Communication and Digital Media, and later on, I graduated with my M.A. in Communications.

What is your favorite spot on campus:
My favorite spot on campus is the James C. Kirkpatrick Library as it has all the essentials: Einstein's bagels, quiet study rooms, and interesting exhibits that change monthly.

Why did you choose UCM:
I selected The University of Central Missouri for my education due to its strong reputation, rigorous academic programs, and a diverse and supportive learning environment. It offered the resources and opportunities I needed to succeed in my academic pursuits.

Best Advice for Incoming Freshmen:
Explore the campus, take full advantage of all your student perks and go see a theater performance or a football game (for free!). Join a club or an organization for something you are interested in!

What I wish I would have known as a freshman:
Don't hesitate to seek help when you need it. Whether it's academic support, mental health resources, or career guidance. Also, explore new interests and push your comfort zone; it's one of the integral parts of the college experience. Take advantage of the diverse clubs, organizations, and classes.

What is your favorite spot on campus?
The JCKL Library. It was my favorite place to study or just sit and relax between classes.

Why did you choose UCM?
UCM had the best history program for what I was wanting compared to other schools in the state. Plus, my mom got her degree here too!

Best Advice for Incoming Freshmen:
Go to events on campus, join clubs, talk in class, and put yourself out there. It can be scary at first, especially in a new place, but it really pays off in the end.

What I wish I would have known as a freshman:
That you'll eventually find your people on campus and create a second family away from home. College really can hold some of your most cherished memories in life!

What is your favorite spot on campus?
My favorite spot on UCM's campus is the 3rd floor of James C Kirkpatrick library at sunset.

Why did you choose UCM?
I chose UCM as they were the first school to have an actual military recruiter talk to me on my visit. The staff seemed very warm and welcoming about the idea. I loved the campus and the feeling of home I got from the visit.

Best Advice for Incoming Freshmen:
Love the dorms while you live in them. That will be the best part about college. Get out and make friends. College is all about the memories.

What I wish I would have known as a freshman:
A campus job is a great thing to have! You make new friends and it is compatible with your schedule.
